The Export Furniture Exhibition (EFE), one of Southeast Asia’s largest annual industry trade shows, returns from March 8-11 next year and exhibitors taking part will enjoy exclusive privileges for the bigger, inspiring and exciting show. The 2017 fair will held again at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) marking the 13th year of EFE in business and continued growth as one of the region’s most prominent global furniture sourcing centre for buying professionals from over 135 countries and regions. More than 300 exciting exhibitors from Malaysia, China and ASEAN countries will showcase top quality modern and contemporary furniture with their latest collections and designs for bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, children, office, dining, outdoor living, hotel furniture, occasional including furniture fittings and accessories.
Moving into its 13th year, EFE 2017 with a gross exhibition space of 30,000sqm, will have 8 Halls to connect buyers with world market leaders. For the first time, it will feature an “India Export Pavilion.” The objective of the India Export Pavilion is to provide opportunities and networking to do export to the world’s largest democratic country by our local manufacturers. India is one of the fastest growing major economies today and the second most populous country in the world with more than 1.2 billion people. The Indian furniture market is estimated to be worth US$17,922 million. Opportunities for export of furniture to India is huge with its increasing demand, fuelled by the boom in housing and commercial construction, increasing income levels and influence of global lifestyle trends. Hopefully, Malaysia can ride on India’s growth with the presence of an India Export Pavilion at EFE 2017 and will further increase furniture exports to India. Buoyed by the strong buying mood of more overseas and new buyers at EFE 2016 driving record sales of US$703 million, the 2017 edition is witnessing again a high return rate of exhibitors.
Importers, exporters and wholesalers make up over half of trade visitors to EFE, a show renowned among international buyers for quality, value and wide selection of all types of furniture including the much sought Malaysian wood dining sets, bedroom and dressing furniture.
