Lapalma for Contract -Skyway Mont Blanc
Lapalma furniture was selected to characterize the environment at the three stations of Skyway: this is the new cableway that Funivie del Monte Bianco inaugurated in June 2015. This dream facility takes tourists and mountaineers till 3,466 mt on sea level, to Helbronner peak. The three stations, each at a different elevation, house several bars, restaurants and shops, an exhibition hall, viewpoints indoor and outdoor so that visitors can enjoy the wonderful panorama offered by the peaks covered with snow.
The interior has been designed by the architects Roberto Rosset and Danilo Montovert, whose concern was to respect the particular existing architecture, choosing both furniture and materials that fit with spaces characterized by large glass walls, major heights, structures at sight and dynamic curved lines or broken lines.
The seating chosen for the bar in the first station, Pontal d’Entrèves (1,300 mt), are the Cuba chair and the Cubo stool; they come along with the Brio table with mat chromed base and top in black Fenix HPL, thus matching perfectly with the lines and the colors of the café. The geometric, strict lines of the Cuba+Cubo collection establish a harmonious relationship with the versatile Brio table – available in two different heights – and reveal a seat focused on comfort.
The elegant touch of the restaurant in the mid station, Pavillon (2,172 mt), instead, is enhanced by the Log stool in plywood black stained, which coordinates with long trapezoid-shaped tables, also placed in the main hall, and rectangular Rondò tables in “total black”. In the “Dames Anglaises” – a particular room of this panorama restaurant bound for special events – the Rondo’ table shows another face, being it now square and oval with a mat chromed base and a top in blanched oak. Also at Pavillon, Brio tables adapt to the long curved counter of the bar thanks to their shape and 2 possible heights: they have mat chromed bases and round tops in blanched oak.
The last station at Helbronner Peak (3,4666 mt) leaves visitors breathless: everything has been designed to direct one’s glance outwards towards the peaks. From the upper terrace you overlook the entire valley. In the high-elevation café, inspired by the landscape, the light, versatile Brio table welcomes visitors offering a white square top and a mat chromed base. Finally, two upholstered chairs, Cut and Pass, both very soft and welcoming, have been selected for some areas reserved to the cable-car personnel, the reception and the meeting room.
Taking part to such an international, challenging project, Lapalma has once again proved to be strongly contract-oriented. This market segment, in fact, requires the flexibility and the productive strength that characterize Lapalma and have let the company win any challenge, including having their products displayed on the so-called “Terrace above Europe”.
