Mindful of the glass cabinets of yesteryear, the solid wood frames of VESTA delineate regular forms. A moulded oak profile with an irregular six-sided section circumscribes volumes of various sizes and is joined at each corner with a 45° cut. This creates a diamond-cut appearance arising from the handwork of skilled craftspeople. The frames delineate the textured cladding: wood, marble and glass. The seamless glass is positioned flush with the wooden surface, emphasizing the purity of the crystalline volume. Framed like a painting, the back panel comes in various materials: glass, wood, laser-engraved Piasentina stone, or marble. The handles are made from brushed brass. The display unit houses glass shelves and a small oak wine chest. A simple filament light bulb illuminates the display case with warm and harmonious light while the shadow of the wooden frames is cast into the surrounding environment. Four multifaceted wooden feet raise the display unit off the floor, giving it a sense of elegance and proportion. Two versions of VESTA will be presented during Milan Design Week: a high and completely transparent version (110x55, h170 cm) and a low version with a Calacatta honey marble top and oak back panel (160x55, h120 cm).
