MANDARIN ORIENTAL SAN FRANCISCO

City: SAN FRANCISCO

|

Year: 2012

|

Designer: BAMO

|

Status: Completed

In order to remain competitive and capture demand generated by America’s Cup, this iconic San Francisco hotel embarked on an ambitious renovation.
Initially planned as condominiums and converted to a hotel in the eleventh hour, some areas of the 30 years old property functioned better than others.
When the project began, BAMO and team closely examined operations and reorganized areas to make better use of space.
Scope included the lobby, new restaurant and bar, feature stair, intimate spa, meeting rooms, and 158 guestrooms and suites.
In 18 short months, the property was transformed into a fresh yet classic hotel that reflects its world-class location and celebrates its preeminent views of the city and the bay.
With a sense of style and contemporary elegance, a warm, neutral palette is punctuated with sophisticated shades of silver and blue, reminiscent of the bay’s sparkling water and iconic fog.
