The newly opened Maison Decorté located within the Ginza Six shopping complex in Tokyo is a sophisticated, luxurious retail store and spa designed to create a true relationship between nature and our skin.
Marcel Wanders signature bells welcome the visitors into the store where the walls are covered in a three-dimensional representation of skin cells punctuated with pulsating flowers that express the rejuvenation of the skin.
The three treatment rooms symbolise the relationship between nature and the skin expressing how the skin must be protected from over exposure to the forces of nature.
Treatment room one aims to shield the skin from the strong rays of the sun through a perforated backlit ceiling that depicts a lush forest canopy, warming without causing damage.
In treatment room two, the faceted walls and Heracleum chandeliers express the freezing of time and allude to crystallisation as well as to a perpetual state of purification the skin undergoes.
In treatment room three, skin and mind are soothed in a softly lit room of curved walls and a ceiling with water rippling effects.
Finally, the skin is calmed and reborn in a dim and mysterious place. Connecting with nature holistically, guests emerge revitalised, refreshed and completely renewed.
